This is the creation story called Wati Kutjara Tjukurpa that my grandfather Simon Hogan paints from Lingka, near where he was born, and I am learning to paint it. Two men, Wati Walawuru (the eagle man) and Wati Wirutja (the owl man) hunt together. One day the owl man stays at home, even though the eagle asks owl to go hunting with him. Eagle went hunting without him and caught a kangaroo. While he was away a big rain came and drowned the Owl man.
