This work is about walking to the point (fishing spot) to look for thickie shells under big or small rocks find the bubbles in the sand, little holes everywhere thats where we dig for thickie shells to use as bait for fishing.

Paula Savage is from Kubin Community Moa Island in the near western cluster of islands in the Torres Strait. She is from the Serganilgal clan group from the village of Dabu on Moa Island, and the Kaurareg Natioon of Muralag and Kiriri. Art was always important to Paula and in early 2017 she became a member of Ngalmun Lagau Minaral Art Centre (Moa Arts) to focus on her artistic practice. Paula works across weaving, lino printing, tie-dying, fabric printing, drawing, carving, and jewellery making. Drawing on her cultural heritage and traditional knowledge to inform her making, she creates work that speaks to her life experiences, cultural laws and customs.
